Agreement to terms

By downloading, accessing, or using the Planty mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any of these Terms, please refrain from using the App. We may update these Terms from time to time, and the updated version will be posted on this page with a fresh "Last Updated" date.

Purpose of the App

Planty is a tool for tracking the variety of plants you eat, including fruit, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds, and herbs and spices, and for noticing patterns in how you eat over time. Intended uses include:

• Logging the plants you eat and the rough portions involved.
• Seeing your weekly count of unique plants, alongside personalized fiber and water targets.
• Planning meals, building a grocery list, and discovering plants you have left untouched recently.
• Reviewing personal insights computed locally from your own log.

General wellness, never medical advice

Planty exists for general wellness and personal curiosity only. The App lies outside the category of medical devices, and the information it provides is offered for educational purposes rather than as medical, dietetic, or nutritional advice. The App makes no claim to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.

• Always consult a qualified clinician, registered dietitian, or other appropriate professional for advice about your specific health, dietary needs, allergies, or any medical condition.
• If you have a history of disordered eating, please consider whether a food-tracking app is right for you, and talk to your care team before using it.
• Targets such as fiber and water goals are estimates based on general public references and the profile values you provided. Please treat them as friendly defaults rather than personalized clinical recommendations.
• If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency room.

Your responsibilities

By using the App you agree to:

• Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only, and in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws.
• Provide reasonably accurate profile information if you choose to use the personalized target features.
• Maintain the security of your device and your Apple ID, which together control access to your data.
• Take responsibility for backing up your own data, including by enabling iCloud sync or device backups if that data matters to you.
• Refrain from attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or redistribute the App except as permitted by law.

Purchases and refunds

Planty is sold as a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no recurring charge.

• Payment is processed by Apple under your Apple ID, subject to Apple's terms.
• Refunds for App Store purchases are handled exclusively by Apple. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com, since the ability to issue App Store refunds rests entirely with Apple.
• If you delete and reinstall the App, you can restore your purchase at any time from the You tab at no extra charge.
• The purchase unlocks the App on Apple IDs you control, per Apple's Family Sharing and Apple ID rules. We license the App through Apple rather than directly.

App features

Planty currently includes the following features for personal use:

• Plant catalog and logging: Hundreds of plants with sensible portion presets and quick-prep ideas, plus the ability to add your own custom plants.
• Today view: A snapshot of unique plants, fiber, and water for the day, with the ability to scroll back through past days.
• Plan and grocery list: Plan ahead and generate a grocery list informed by what you have been logging.
• Insights: Personal trends and suggestions computed locally on your device.
• Quiet Mode: A setting that disables celebrations and milestone animations.

We may add, change, or remove features in future updates. We work hard to keep the parts you rely on stable, while reserving the right to evolve the App, so any specific feature may change or retire in a future version.

Intellectual property

The App and its content are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws:

• The App's design, code, illustrations, plant catalog content, and other original materials are owned by Planty and protected by copyright.
• Please refrain from reproducing, distributing, publicly displaying, or creating derivative works from the App or its assets without our express written permission.
• Any food log entries, custom plants, notes, or other personal content you create in the App remain yours.
• "Planty" and the Planty logo are marks of the App's developer. Other product and company names mentioned in the App may be the trademarks of their respective owners.

Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. In summary:

• All your personal data stays on your device, and additionally inside your iCloud when you enable sync.
• Your personal data lives entirely outside our servers, since we never collect or store it.
• The App uses no third-party analytics and no advertising SDKs of any kind.
• Insights and personalization are computed locally from your own data.

Limitation of liability

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We make no warranties, whether express or implied, that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or suited to any particular purpose.
• To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.
• You are solely responsible for backing up your data, and we disclaim responsibility for any lost or corrupted data.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the App will be capped at the amount you paid for the App.
• Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that lies beyond the scope of lawful exclusion.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device.

• To remove all data, delete the App and, if you enabled iCloud sync, clear Planty data from your iCloud storage settings.
• We may suspend or discontinue the App, or specific features, at any time, including for security, legal, or operational reasons.
• These Terms remain in effect for as long as you use the App.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the App or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make changes:

• We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
• Material changes may be announced in the App or in the App Store release notes.
• Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
• If you disagree with the updated Terms, please stop using the App.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App's developer resides, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
